Main Street in El Segundo, California, near the Masonic Center where the Kaizen Men's Weekend is held

Where the Kaizen Men's Weekend is held, and where to park

The weekend runs at the El Segundo Masonic Center on Main Street, ten minutes south of LAX, with free public parking across the road. This page covers getting there, where to leave the car, what the building actually is, and the lodging question the current site asks and never answers.

The El Segundo Masonic Center at 520 Main Street

The Kaizen Men's Weekend is held at the El Segundo Masonic Center, 520 Main St, El Segundo, CA 90245, on the main street of a small beach town about ten minutes south of LAX.

It is a plain hall. Wood floor, high windows, stacked folding chairs, a kitchen. That is the whole of it, and it suits the weekend better than a retreat centre would.

The weekend is not a Masonic event and has no religious affiliation. The lodge owns the building and the room is rented, the same way a hall gets rented for a wedding or a town meeting. It comes up often enough to be worth stating plainly.

Free public parking, a short walk from the door

There is free public parking at 533 Main St, El Segundo, CA 90245, essentially across the street. Two public lots sit on the block, marked on the map below.

Do not circle looking for a space at the door on Friday. Park in the lot, walk the block, and arrive before noon.

Getting to El Segundo for the men's weekend

From LAX: about ten minutes south on Sepulveda. If you are flying in for the weekend, this is the closest venue you will find to a major airport for anything like this.

From the 405: exit at El Segundo Blvd and head west toward the water, then turn onto Main Street. From the South Bay and the beach cities it is surface streets the whole way.

Without a car: the Metro C Line runs through El Segundo, and LA Metro's rider guide covers fares and planning. Check the walking distance from the station before you rely on it, and remember you will be arriving Friday and leaving Sunday evening with a bag.

Where to sleep during the three day weekend

Lodging is not currently listed as part of the weekend, so plan on your own bed or your own accommodation. Men who live in Los Angeles generally go home at night. Men coming from further out book something nearby; El Segundo has hotels serving the airport within a few minutes' drive.

Confirm this with Janjua at 770-851-7368 before you book anything. The current site raises the lodging question and does not answer it, and we would rather you asked than guessed.

What is provided once you are there

Every meal from Friday dinner through Sunday lunch: dinner Friday; breakfast, lunch and dinner Saturday; breakfast and lunch Sunday. Dietary restrictions are collected on the registration form, so tell them there.

Bring your own water and snacks anyway, plus the rest of the list on the what to expect page.

Parking for the El Segundo Masonic Center

The venue is marked at 520 Main St. The two public lots outlined on the map are free, and both are a short walk from the door. This is the map the organizers use themselves.
